Domino's celebrates store No. 15K with $15K donation

March 6, 2018

According to Domino's CEO Patrick Doyle, the brand has opened "roughly three stores a day" for the past few years, leading to the opening on Wednesday of store No. 15,000 on East Church Street in Lewisville, Texas. A news release said that the opening will be celebrating with the donation of $15,000 to the Children's Advocacy Center for Denton County, Texas, a news release said.

Doyle will be on hand for the big event, as well as Richard Allison of Domino's International,  and Lewisville Domino's franchise owner Robert Gavitt.

"Having the Lewisville community be a part of this milestone store means a great deal to me, as does being able to give back," said Gavitt. "The Domino's team and I are honored to support a great local organization that helps children who have been abused, as well as their families."

Gavitt owns 21 stores in the Greater Dallas and Austin areas. He began working at Domino's as a delivery driver in 1982 and became a franchisee in 2002. Domino's said that more than 90 percent of its U.S. franchise owners began their career as a part-time Domino's employee.

In 2017, Domino's had global retail sales of over $12.2 billion, with more than $5.9 billion in the U.S. and more than $6.3 billion internationally. Domino's operates in more than 85 markets around the world. In just the past four years, the pizza brand has opened more than 4,000 stores globally, Doyle said.
