Domino's Pizza has opened its first store on the Indian Ocean island nation of Mauritius in the city of Port Louis. A news release said the opening was accomplished through a partnership with local operator and Mauritius master franchisee, Island Living.
This first location in the nation is in the center of its capital city and features the new pizza theater design with front-row seating to watch pizzas being made, as well as a kid's corner. A second location will open later this year in the heart of the Beau Bassin community of Mauritius.
"Establishing ourselves in Mauritius provides an excellent opportunity for our brand to continue growing globally," Domino's International Executive Vice President Joe Jordan, said in the release. "Domino's, partnering with ... the Island Living team has terrific potential to offer an unmatched pizza experience to the people of Mauritius."
Domino's now operates in more than 85 markets worldwide, with more than half of its global retail sales coming from international stores.
