Eagle Boys Pizza donates 6,000 pizzas to Salvation Army

December 14, 2006

BRISBANE, Australia — Eagle Boys Pizza, a 170-unit chain based here, said it is donating 6,000 free pizza vouchers to the Salvation Army this Christmas.
According to a news release, the value of the donation is AUS $60,000 (U.S. $47,000).
"Christmas is a time everyone should have enough food on the table and a smile on their face, no matter what their circumstances," said Tom Potter, Eagle Boys managing director and founder. "Donating 6,000 free pizza vouchers is just a small way Eagle Boys can offer support to the Salvation Army and the community. We are honored to be able to assist the Salvos and hope that Eagle Boys is contributing to providing struggling families with some relief and happiness this Christmas."
It is estimated the Salvation Army Appeal will assist more than 300,000 people, across Australia, who will face hardship during the season.
Salvation Army appeal coordinator, Paul Reis, said he was grateful for the donation to the organization.
"With the assistance of community minded organizations such as Eagle Boys, we are able to meet the real needs of families at Christmas time and provide them with a caring and helping hand," Reis said. "For a lot of people, Christmas can be a period of stressful times and financial hardship where they find it hard to make ends meet. ... We are so grateful for Eagle Boys' donation and their generosity will surely bring a smile to the faces of the under privileged who will receive a Christmas Pack this season."
