Fake Bob Dylan roadie picks up pizza tab

December 22, 2010

Boston's "pizza bandit," who placed a fake $3,900 order last month at Antonio's Pizza, has agreed to pay up.

According to The Republican, the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, and the pizzeria agreed to an undisclosed settlement stemming from the incident, which occurred Nov. 19.

That night, the man placed an order for 178 pizzas, claiming he was a Bob Dylan roadie who was in charge of feeding backstage tour workers. The rock legend was playing in Boston that night, so the story wasn't unbelievable.

Employees at Antonio's worked until 5 a.m. Saturday preparing the tall order, which was never picked up.

Half of the order was donated to homeless shelters and other charities in town. The pizza bandit, who has no prior criminal record, has expressed remorse for the incident.
