Flippin' Pizza, the 13-unit fast casual New York-style pizza concept, has signed a franchise agreement with foodservice veteran Brett Silver to transfer three existing restaurants to his ownership in the Maryland market.
Silver is currently the director of concessions for Levy Restaurants at the Washington Nationals Park. Flippin' Pizza is the official pizza of the Washington Nationals.
Silver has purchased three Maryland-based Flippin' Pizza units, located in Silver Spring, Bethesda and Arundel Mills. The new franchisee has plans to open 10 Flippin' Pizzas in the region, naming Rockville, Germantown, Gaithersburg and College Park as prime targets for expansion.
A veteran of the food and beverage industry with 30 years of experience, Silver first ran numerous pizzerias in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Long Island, N.Y. He then went on to manage concessions at the Washington Redskins FedExField for nine years, to his current position as director of concessions for Levy Restaurants at Washington Nationals Park.
"I first tasted Flippin' Pizza when they became the official pizza at the Washington Nationals Park, and as a native New Yorker I was blown away. Their pizza is absolutely delicious, an authentic New York style recipe that is hand tossed and baked to perfection in deck ovens. I fell in love with the product and the brand," Silver said. "The Flippin' management team are a class act, with amazing attention to detail and top notch customer service standards."
Flippin' Pizza is partnered with Fransmart, a franchise development company that has grown brands such as Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Qdoba Mexican Grill and zpizza.
Flippin' Pizza currently has nine restaurants open in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia and four restaurants in California.
