LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Papa John's International announced the opening of its first unit in Moscow.
According to a news release, the unit opened on Dec. 22. Papa John's said more units are planned for Russia, but didn't specify how many or where they'd be.
Some of the unique Papa John's menu offerings in Russia include the Alfredo Delight (ham, bacon, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and a creamy spinach Alfredo sauce); the Western Omelet pizza (eggs, cheese, bacon, ham, green peppers and onions); and several "Pizzas of the World," including the To Russia with Love, made from mashed potatoes, bacon, onions and garlic butter sauce.
Papa John's wants to open 600 international stores over the next three to seven years. The chain opened its first international unit in Mexico City in 1998.
