Foodservice event being covered in real time via Google Glass

April 14, 2014

The Washington Restaurant Association's 2014 Northwest Foodservice Show, which kicked off Sunday and continues throughout today, is featuring Google Glass live streaming.

According to a news release, this is the first time the foodservice industry has featured Google Glass at a major trade show. The experience includes the recently launched Livestream Platform specific to Glass, and will allow the WRA to provide a first-hand perspective of the show.

Several industry experts, exhibitors and attendees will be interviewed live using Google Glass, and viewers will be able to see, in real time, various products, services and events from the event, the release said.

"We wanted to take advantage of available cutting edge technologies to demonstrate the possibilities of the marriage between Google Glass and live streaming at these types of events," said Lex Nepomuceno, WRA's director of communications and technology. "The uniqueness of this undertaking will hopefully emphasize the creativity and innovation that is being applied in the restaurant industry every day.
