SUGAR LAND, Texas — TGB, a U.S. distributor of Cobra Powersports scooters, is setting off on a coast-to-coast journey to demonstrate not only the fuel efficiency and durability of its two-wheelers, but their ideal use in pizza delivery.
According to a news release, beginning Nov. 3, riders Robert Bates, Mike Patterson, and Ryan Pesch will leave New York on a 10-day journey to Los Angeles astride TGB Delivery 150 scooters. Along the 12-state route, they'll be giving away free pizza and T-shirts, but the real goal of the demonstration is to show how cheaply operators can run their pizza delivery services with scooters instead of cars. The TGB Delivery is a purpose-built commercial scooter made for delivering everything from pizza to mail. Two engines are offered — 49cc and 150cc — with the 150cc averaging more than 80 miles per gallon at 60 mph. Cost of each model is $2,299 and $2,999 respectively.
