Gatti's Pizza sends cancer patients to summer camp

AUSTIN, Texas — Gatti's Pizza LP made a donation of $31,000 to The Periwinkle Foundation, which will make it possible for 31 youth cancer patients from Texas Children's Cancer Center in Houston to attend Camp Periwinkle this August.
During April, Gatti's Pizza locations throughout Texas offered customers $1 off Gatti's Pizza buffet coupons in exchange for a $1 donation to Camp Periwinkle, which is held in Burton, Texas.
Gatti's Pizza set an original goal of sending 15 patients to Camp Periwinkle for 2008. Through the donations of customers and the corporate matching of those donations, Gatti's Pizza will send 31 patients to Camp Periwinkle this summer.
In addition to the donation, Gatti's Pizza's executive team, staff, and franchisees will bring the Gatti's mobile pizza kitchen, "The Gatti-Wagon," to Camp Periwinkle on August 8, 2008, to cook fresh pizza for campers, family and friends.
