'Great American Pizza Party' rewards participants, supports pizzerias

Tomorrow, pizzerias nationwide will join The Great American Pizza Party, an event created to support pizza restaurants during the COVID-19 crisis. The event encourages Americans to have their own home-based pizza parties Friday night, by letting their favorite pizza pie provider do the cooking and also features a social media-based contest that supports restaurant workers and could net one player a full-size arcade machine, a news release said. 

The initiative supported by brands like Marco's and Papa Murphy's, is an extension of The Great American Takeout, that has been sponsoring The Great American Takeout, with Takeout Tuesdays for about four weeks now. 

As a tribute to the pizza arcades of yesteryear, The Great American Takeout and Rich Products are giving away a full-size arcade machine (loaded with 60 games) to one participant in The Great American Pizza Party. In order to be eligible for that prize, participants must follow these rules: 
• Order pizza on Friday, April 17.
• Post a picture of that ordered pie with one slice removed along with the hashtags, #TheGreatAmericanPizzaParty and #Sweeps.
• Follow @thegreatamericantakeout (on Instagram) or @TheGATakeout (on Twitter).

Rich Products will also donate $5 to the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, up to $25,000 total, for every social media post tagged with  #TheGreatAmericanPizzaParty this Friday. 

"We were so energized by #TheGreatAmericanTakeout initiative that we started brainstorming creative ways to offer additional support," said Kevin Spratt, senior vice president, Foodservice Division, Rich Products. "Since pizza is such an important part of our business and a beloved takeout tradition, evolving the campaign into #TheGreatAmericanPizzaParty was a natural fit."
