DETROIT -- Frank Williams, a 45-year-old delivery driver from Happy's Pizza, was killed August 3 while attempting to deliver pizza to an abandoned house.
It is the second killing of a Happy's Pizza driver in the past two weeks. On July 23, driver Leonard O'Neal, 41, was killed while delivering a pizza. Police have two men in custody and are looking for a third suspect.
A witness to Williams' murder told police she observed him delivering the pizza to the house in a west side neighborhood, where he was shot once in the head.
Three teens have been detained and homicide detectives are investigating.
According to WDIV-TV's Web site, Detnow.com, neighbors on the street where the crime occurred heard Williams beg for his life on the front porch of the vacant house.
Residents of a home across the street from the crime scene told police one of their teenage relatives and some of his young friends plotted the whole thing.
"He called Jerry's Pizza first, but that didn't work for him, so he called Happy's," said Kelvin Johnson, one suspect's uncle. "He set the guy up and two of them stayed here, from what I understand. They said they would meet up after whatever they did here."
Williams worked part time for Happy's, using his mother's car to deliver pizzas.
"Somebody lost their life for nothing, trying to make it happen for his family," said Johnson.
