Russo's New York Pizzeria has opened a new location at The Shops at 3 Corners, 8236 Kirby Dr., Suite 160 in Houston.
Houston developer Asif Malik opened the store adjacent to NRG Stadium. The Kirby Drive location is the 20th Russo's Pizzeria to open in the Houston area. The company plans to add 20 to 30 new stores in the next three years as part of its strategic growth plan beginning in 2015. The franchise is also housed internationally with multiple locations in the Middle East. Discussions are underway to open stores in Canada, the Philippines, Mexico and China.
The late 2013 period to today represents the company's most aggressive growth phase, according to a company announcement. Russo's, as well as upscale sister brand Russo's Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen, brought in nearly 24-percent average net profit, including an average food cost of less than 21 percent and an average volume of more than $1 million.
Russo's most recent opening saw weekly sales revenues of $35,000 to $60,000, the company said.
