Hungry Howie’s flavored crusts now available as gluten-free

November 4, 2014

Hungry Howie’s Pizza has added a new gluten-free pizza crust to its menu. Guests have the option to choose from the brand’s original wheat-based crusts or its new gluten-free crust that is made with rice flour, rice starch, potato starch, water and olive oil.

It contains less than 20 parts per million of gluten. Since Hungry Howie’s Pizza makes its dough fresh in-store daily, the company said the new gluten-free crust is not suitable for those with celiac disease. However, those who prefer gluten-free food items because of dietary choice or mild gluten sensitivity can enjoy the crust.

The gluten-free crust is available in a six-slice small pizza, and can be made with any of Hungry Howie’s Pizza’s signature flavors, including Butter, Asiago Cheese, Cajun, Butter Cheese, Sesame, Garlic Herb, Ranch and Onion.

“A number of customers have asked for a gluten-free option; and we are proud to introduce our gluten-free pizza crust,” VP of Strategic Marketing Rob Elliott said in a news release. “We are always looking for new ways to please our guests with innovative flavors and offerings, and we know guests will love our delicious gluten-free crust.”
