Kotipizza reports substantial sales boost in February

Same-store sales for Finnish brand Kotipizza grew 15.1 percent in February, the company reported today. Total sales  for the pizza chain, part of Kotipizza Group Oyj, grew 19.6 percent in February 2018, compared with the previous year. .

February sales amounted to $10.8 million (8.7 million euros), compared with the $9.06 million (7.3 million euros) in the previous year. February 2018 included, the chain's sales have risen for 35 consecutive months.

Sales at the chain's brick-and-mortar restaurants increased 21.2 percent; shop-in-shop sales were up 11 percent. Online store sales grew 39.1 percent to $1.09 million (884,000 euros). Figures for online sales are based mainly on sales reported by 78 restaurants that offer home delivery, and count towards sales at brick-and-mortar restaurants.

Total sales for restaurants in the Chalupa chain, part of Kotipizza Group Oyj, grew 58.9 percent in February 2018 compared with the previous year. February sales amounted to $188,692 (152,000 euros). Same-store sales, based on sales figures from seven restaurants, decreased 29.1 percent.

Sales for Social Burgerjoint restaurant, another Kotipizza Group Oyj property, grew 23 percent in February compared with the previous year, and amounted to $76,966 (62,000 euros).

At the end of financial year 2016, the number of Kotipizza Group Oy restaurants stood at 257.
