Latino-focused Pizza Patron enters San Antonio market

April 28, 2003

DALLAS -- The Pizza Patrón Inc., based in Garland, Texas, has signed its first out-of territory franchise agreement in San Antonio.

According to the Dallas Business Journal, franchisee Charles Loflin said, "The concept's strong focus on serving Hispanic communities provides great opportunity in San Antonio, a city with a large Latino population."

Founded in 1986, Pizza Patrón serves the growing Latino pizza segment. The restaurant features carryout-only pizza stores based in Spanish-speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods.

Loflin owns five Wingstop restaurants, which is another strongly Hispanic-focused concept founded by Pizza Patrón owner Antonio Swad.

Swad sold Wingstop to a Houston restaurant group in January.
