HARTINGTON, Neb. -- Mozzarella cheese manufacturer Leprino Foods will close two small Nebraska plants in order to focus further on its LeMoore, Calif., operation.
According to the Associated Press, the May closure of the plants, in Hartington and Dodge, will eliminate 175 jobs.
Officials at Denver-based Leprino said the dwindling milk supply in the area around both plants reduced their effectiveness.
Leprino purchased both plants from Dairy Farmers of America in 1998.
