HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A Little Caesar's Pizza Kits plant is expected to be operating in Huron Township, Mich., in six to 12 months.
According to the Monroe Evening News, Champion Foods LLC, an arm of Ilitch Holdings, which also owns the Little Caesars pizza chain, expects to employ 199 and spend $40 million to purchase, refurbish and equip the former Epic Components near the town.
The chain's Pizza Kits contain all the ingredients necessary to make a Little Caesars pizza and are sold for fund-raising uses.
Michigan Gov. John Engler said on Nov. 19 that Illitch Holdings chose Huron Township, over an alternative in Columbus, Ohio.
Town treasurer Gerald Skrzycki said the production from five other Ilitch plants will consolidated at the new plant.
