Loop Pizza Grill shows School is Cool

July 24, 2006

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As part of The Loop Pizza Grill's School is Cool program, students here can receive a welcome back certificate from their teachers that can be redeemed for a free kid's pizza at all First Coast Loop locations.

"It's always tough to go back to school after having the summer off," said Mike Schneider, founder and chief executive of The Loop Restaurant Group. "But we recognize the importance of getting a good, quality education and a free Loop pizza is just one way to support students in their academic endeavors."

According to a news release, School is Cool includes awards for students who make significant improvements or accomplish major goals in academics, sports or the arts. The program gives report card bonuses for students who display academic excellence or have perfect attendance at the end of each grading period, and $5 Loop discounts for parents who join the PTA. The Loop's school fundraising program also gives 10 percent of designated purchases to participating schools.
