Marco's names restaurant financial veteran, growth guru as CFO

Marco's Pizza said it has named former Granite City Food & Brewery CFO Jeffery Rager as chief financial officer for the expanding pizza chain as part of its moves to prepare for nationwide growth, a news release said. 

Rager, who will oversee Marco's financial strategy and capital planning for all locations, has 25 years of experience in financial management roles including those at KFC, Mast Industries Inc., Ignite Restaurant Inc. 

During his role at Granite City, Rager worked with the brewery and food concept's chief executive to redefine operations metrics and coaching routines in ways that created what the release said were "dramatic increases in annual productivity." 

"Jeffery's vast experience in creating financial strategies will make him an essential component in achieving our business and growth objectives," Marco's President and COO Tony Libardi, said in the release. "As an expert in long-term planning and management, Jeffery has an uncanny ability to roll out new ideas that financially support everyone from the executive level to local staff and franchisees."

Marco's, headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, now has more than 900 stores in 35 states and three countries.
