Marco's Pizza recruits vets in expansion drive

TOLEDO, Ohio — Marco's Franchising LLC, the franchising arm for Toledo-based Marco's Pizza, has announced that three military veterans will be opening Marco's Pizza stores in Virginia, Atlanta and Oklahoma.
 
Marco's is offering financial assistance for veterans to open and develop their stores, along with special finance packages that have been arranged through local banks.
 
Veterans who will be opening Marco's Pizza stores include:
  • Ferdinand Gozum, a native of the Philippines and a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force. He will be opening a Marco's Pizza in Newport News, Va., by September 2007 and plans to open three more in Virginia.
  • Dan Marshal, a U.S. Army veteran, and his partner William Vincent will open up to 22 Marco's Pizzas in Atlanta.
  • Craig Mann will open Marco's Pizzas in Oklahoma.
   
Marco's currently has 155 units in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Nevada, Arizona and North Carolina, and plans to be in 10 states by 2007 and 500 units by 2010.
