Meal assembly kit company, Dream Dinners, is expanding in Alabama after signing a franchise deal to open a store in Daphne. The deal is the start of what the company said is its long-term goal of continued growth in the Gulf Coast region, according to a news release.
The meal kit industry is gaining popularity with the renewed interest consumers have shown in eating at home. In fact, the deal this week for Dream Dinners is its first for a new franchise since 2008, and will establish the chain's second Alabama store, in addition to the one on McGregor Avenue in Mobile. In total the brand has 85 retail locations in 24 states.
"This is the prime time to strategically expand this concept," Dream Dinners Franchise Development Director Ashley Sawyer said in a news release. "Our lives are busier than ever, but families are recognizing the importance of quality time together around the dinner table. … We’ve seen a growing demand in this area."
The Daphne location will open this summer on U.S. Highway 98 in the city. The brand is selling franchises in other markets, including Birmingham, Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Dallas and Houston.
