Family-owned Denver pizza brand, Mici's, is setting Sept. 25 aside to honor one particular member of the family: daughters. That Wednesday also happens to be National Daughters Day, too, so the brand is giving free "Bambini Meals" with a small gelato, of course, to all the daughters dining there Sept. 25, as long as there's also an adult entrée on the order, too.
The chain's Bambini menu includes kids-sized pizzas in cheese, pepperoni or veggie, as well as penne pasta with marinara, Alfredo or olive oil and Parmesan. But the real draw on these meals is the personal "ball of pizza dough" each young lady will get with her meal to knead, punch, draw on, wear or whatever the lady pleases.
The brand said National Daughters Day initially came about to erase the stigma in some countries attached to having a girl instead of a boy child. Now in this country, however, it's simply a day to celebrate the ladies.
