In celebration of its 40th birthday, Minsky's Pizza is helping its hometown of Kansas City by partnering with four not-for-profit organizations: The Alex Smith Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City, KC Pet Project and Turn the Page KC.

During May, customers can designate 15 percent of their checks to go to one of these not-for-profits for the "4 for 40" donation program, and they will receive a 5-percent discount off their orders, according to a press release.  At the end of the month, the organization receiving the most donations from customers' orders will receive a matched donation from Minsky's Pizza.

“After founding Godfather's Pizza in Omaha and selling that concept. I brought my idea for gourmet pizza to Kansas City 40 years ago because I was impressed with the people I met here,” said Gregg Johnson, Minsky's founder.

With its beginning in 1976, Minsky's Pizza currently operates 17 locations in the Kansas City, Missouri, and Lawrence, Kansas, areas.
