BRADLEY, Ill. — Monical's Pizza will donate 10 percent of its gift certificate sales on Sept. 11 and Nov. 11 (Veterans Day) to the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund.
According to a news release, the fund-raiser covers all certificates sold either in stores or online.
The Illinois Military Family Relief Fund provides grants to families of Illinois National Guard members on active duty in the U.S Armed Forces Reserves as a result of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The grants help families defray costs for food, housing, utilities and medical expenses.
"After the initial outpouring of assistance, many of us have gone back to day-to-day life, while families with active service men and women are still impacted daily by the ongoing efforts," said Harry Bond, president of 55-unit Monical's. "(T)his is just one way we can let the Illinois soldiers and families know they are not forgotten."
