Mountain Mike's Pizza launches calzones for limited time

Mountain Mike's Pizza is expanding its menu with the debut of build-your-own calzones, available now through Dec. 31, according to a press release.

The 10-inch calzones are made with the chain's signature dough and topped with a garlic butter spread. Each calzone is folded around melted mozzarella cheese and up to two customer-selected toppings, then baked and served with a dipping sauce. Customers can choose from a variety of ingredients, including pepperoni, green bell peppers, artichoke hearts and jalapeños.

"Calzones are an exciting new addition to the Mountain Mike's menu, delivering everything our guests love about the brand in a bold new way," Jim Metevier, CEO of Mountain Mike's Pizza, said in the press release. "We're known for fresh-made dough, premium ingredients and generous portions, and our new Calzones bring all of that together in a craveable, customizable offering that's packed with flavor and unmistakably Mountain Mike's. It's a fresh way to experience the quality and abundance our guests have come to expect from us."

The menu item is designed to offer a personal-sized option for individual dining or eating on the go.

"Calzones open up new occasions for guests to enjoy Mountain Mike's, whether it's a quick lunch, a late-night snack, an easy dinner for one or a satisfying meal on the go," Carol DeNembo, chief marketing officer of Mountain Mike's Pizza, added in the press release. "It's an exciting way for us to meet more cravings, more occasions and ultimately give guests more reasons to choose Mountain Mike's, and for a limited time, guests can add a Calzone to any medium, large or 20-inch Mountain-Sized Pizza for only $7.99!"

Customers can order the new calzones online, through the Mountain Rewards app or via third-party delivery partners.
