MVP Program goes online at LaRosa's Pizza

September 1, 2004

CINCINNATI, Ohio — For more than 30 years, LaRosa's Pizza has supported high school sports in Greater Cincinnati by recognizing outstanding student-athletes from area schools with weekly newspaper ads. Now the company is starting with the 2004-2005 academic year by moving its LaRosa's MVP of the Week program to the Web at www.larosasMVP.com.

According to a news release, the company made the switch because it believes today's high school students are more Web savvy and use it often.

Using the Web site, Cincinnati-area high school sports fans also can cast votes for the LaRosa's MVP of the Week. Winners will be announced at the new Web site and via an e-mail sent to all registered voters. Each week, voters will help determine the LaRosa's MVPs along with coaches, athletic directors and our sports media panel.

"The Internet adds a new dimension of fun and participation to the weekly LaRosa's MVP program," said chief people officer Mike LaRosa. "We know that sports fans want to get involved with their favorite teams and support them in any way possible, and this new Web site provides an excellent opportunity for them to do so."
