The report examines the UK market for fast food and home delivery outlets. The market exhibited year-over-year growth in 2014, with total sales value increasing by 3.5 percent from the previous year, according to a statement from the company. Growth spread across burgers, pizza, fish and chips, chicken and other fast food and takeaway outlets, with substantial variances in sales performance in each sector. While burgers remain the largest market, the category experienced the slowest growth rate in 2014, attributed to high saturation and growing competition from restaurants in the QSR market. Areas such as kebab shops, Chinese and Indian home delivery outlets and emerging Mexican fast food chains are increasingly rivalling burgers total sales value. Chicken is the smallest operating in this market, but posted significant growth in 2014 due in part to the perception that chicken is healthier than red meat alternatives, the report said.

Overall market growth is predicted to reach 9.2 percent between 2015 and 2019.
