Nicky's Pizzeria celebrates Florence, Ky., opening

Nicky's "World Famous" Pizzeria is holding a grand opening celebration Nov. 14 and 15 in Florence, Kentucky.
Free slices of Nicky's pizza will be distributed over the weekend of Nov. 14 in the greater Cincinnati area during the grand opening. "The highway has plenty of dining choices," said owner Kim Santamassino. "We are banking on the power of good-old-fashioned free."
While the Santamassinos have confidence in their product, they also want to give back to the metro area that has supported them. A special attraction this weekend will be the appearance of World Pizza Champion Joe Carlucci. Carlucci is the World Guinness record holder of the highest dough toss, 22.5 feet. He also is a three-time world champion pizza acrobat.
In addition to entertaining crowds, Carlucci's high-energy interactive show will share his "as seen on TV" skills with area residents.
