September 27, 2016

On the heels of 2015’s record-breaking $254 million in system-wide revenue and 27 consecutive months of positive comp sales, Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom entered into franchise development agreements this week with three existing franchise partners to open nearly two dozen new restaurants. The move grows the chain’s footprint nationally to cover eight states, including Tennessee, South Carolina, Montana, Wyoming,Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi, according to a news release.

The Collier Group will develop seven  locations in South Carolina and Tennessee, while the Johnson Group plans to bring three restaurants to Wyoming and Montana, and the Nursariwala Group will open six locations in Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi.

"Old Chicago is a strong concept and based on the success we've been seeing in our Joplin restaurant, the company is poised for tremendous growth over the next several years," said franchisee AJ Nursariwala, in a news release. "I've seen firsthand the company's commitment to its franchisees and am eager to continue the relationship with the development of my new restaurants."

Nursariwala has another location in Joplin, Missouri, while his first new restaurant under this week’s deal opens in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2017.

The chain also recently launched a  5,000-square-foot restaurant prototype with an extra 1,200-square-foot outside patio, as well as a new kitchen and upgraded bar technology. The company also updated training and guest-proven menu categories, according to the release.
