UHRICHSVILLE, Pa.—In the wake of recent delivery driver robberies, some pizza places here are increasing safety awareness.
According to the Times Reporter, following a Feb. 9 attack on one of his drivers, Papa John's franchisee Alan Wood said his business no longer makes change for bills larger than $20 during deliveries.
The robbery of a Domino's Pizza delivery driver on March 20 has Fox's Pizza Den franchisee George Joseph on the watch.
"This has heightened our awareness," said Joseph. He encourages his drivers to leave a delivery destination if their instincts tell them something is amiss. "If it doesn't look right, it isn't right."
