DEDHAM, Mass. — Papa Gino's announced the market test of its new Rustic Pizza, a pie it called "bold-tasting, crispy pizza made with Old World quality."
According to a news release, the Rustic's hand-stretched, thin-crust pizza is slow-baked and cut into 12 slices. Its bold taste is achieved with a unique cheese blend including Asiago and Romano.
The new pizza will be available through mid-November in 22 Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts stores. (The chain has 170 units in its system.)
Customers purchasing a Rustic before Oct. 23 will get a small traditional cheese pizza for free.
"We're sure the Rustic Pizza's Old World quality, bold taste and crunchy crust will be a huge hit with existing and new customers," said Michael McManama, vice president of marketing at Papa Gino's.
Papa Gino's will support the Rustic's rollout with radio and TV advertising, and through various in-store tasting opportunities.
