Papa John’s is opening a location in North Africa's Tunisia, according to a news release. Following Egypt, Tunisia will be the second country in Africa to boast a Papa John’s franchise; the unit will be in the capital city of Tunis. Tunisia just recently opened its boarders to franchising from other countries.
Sofiene Ghali, who also operates more than 25 hamburger and sandwich restaurants joints, will oversee this first Papa John’s location in his home country.
"We are honored to be a part of bringing Papa John's to Tunisia. There is a strong demand for high-quality pizzas and friendly service," he said.
Aside from the restaurant in Tunis, Papa John’s plans to open another restaurant in Morocco later this summer, according to the release.
