Papa John's CFO heads to same job at Jack in the Box

January 17, 2018

Just weeks after the departure of former CEO John Schnatter, Papa John's International said that CFO and CAO Lance Tucker is leaving to take the CFO job at Jack in the Box. The company said in a news release Tuesday that Tucker is leaving the job March 2, and Papa John's is searching for his replacement.

Papa John's President and CEO Steve Ritchie said in the release that Tucker was a critical member of the brand's leadership team.

"He has also been instrumental in developing an already strong and deep finance department," Ritchie said in the release. "I appreciate all his contributions during his many years with the Company and wish him the best in his new role."

In late December, founder and former CEO John Schnatter left his position after the stock price of the brand plummeted in value following a statement Schnatter made essentially pinning the company's recent challenges on the NFL's response to some of its players' protests. Papa John's was an NFL sponsor.
