Papa John's targets Vermont, last state on U.S market list

May 24, 2004

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Papa John's announced plans to enter the Vermont market, the only U.S. state in which the company lacks a presence.

According to a news release, the number-three pizza chain is seeking potential franchisees with foodservice or management experience and who meet minimum net worth and capital requirements.

"With its many colleges and universities, we believe Vermont is a great multi-unit market for a franchisee who is ready to grow and expand his or her foodservice portfolio," Joni Dalton, Papa John's director of new business development, said in the release.
