Peter Piper Pizza promotes president to CEO

August 13, 2013

Phoenix-based Peter Piper Pizza Inc. has named its president, Charles Bruce, as its new CEO. Bruce was named president in September and previously had spent three years as the company's chief marketing officer.

Since taking over as president, Bruce has implemented a new brand strategy that has helped generate 40 consecutive months of same-store growth, the company said. Additionally, Bruce has overseen a rebranding initiative, dubbed Piper Remix, which launched in the spring.

Also during Bruce's tenure, the chain has signed new multiyear, multi-unit development agreements in Dallas, Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas, as well as two Mexico locations.

"As president and CEO I plan on continuing to build the Peter Piper Pizza brand and ensure it continues on the established growth trajectory and achieves all of our financial objectives," Bruce said in the announcement. "I will also be focusing on attracting additional capital to the brand in the form of new franchisees to develop new markets."

Prior to Peter Piper Pizza, Bruce was senior vice president of marketing at North Carolina-based Salsarita's. He has held executive-level marketing positions throughout the restaurant industry at Captain D's Seafood, Damon's, Wendy's and Pizza Hut.

Peter Piper Pizza has more than 130 locations across the Southwest.
