Pieology plants 1st non-traditional store in Southern California

March 28, 2019

Pieology has opened its first non-traditional location at California State University, Fullerton.  The school's Auxiliary Service Corporation, which oversees numerous on-campus businesses is the Pieology franchisee, a news release said.

Pieology CEO Gregg Imamoto joined university President Framroze "Fram" Virjee and Board of Trustees of Associated Students Chair Riley Duncan to open the location last month. Imamoto said the franchise company's vision is "all about serving creativity and providing guests with high-quality options no matter if they're looking for the best of health or the best of indulgence." As an example, the release said that the brand was the first fast casual pizza brand to launch the use of plant-based proteins on its menu nationally recently.

The first Pieology opened just down the street from the new campus store, and the Cal State Fullerton community has played an important part in Pieology's success, Imamoto said.

"We're expecting strong growth in this non-traditional segment, as we develop win-win relationships with many more respected school foodservice providers," said Imamoto.

Pieology also recently opened stores in Mexico and Spain.
