Pizzas 4 Patriots is teaming up with DHL Express to deliver pizza to troops serving abroad for Super Bowl Sunday, according to a Pizza 4 Patriots announcement.
The company will send 5,000 pizzas to Afghanistan for soldiers to enjoy during the NFL championship game. DHL Express is donating its global express shipping services for the project for the seventh year in a row.
Pizza supplier Rich Products Corporation will supply the pizza for nonprofit Pizza 4 Patriots.
"Having served overseas, I personally know that having a taste of home on Super Bowl Sunday is a powerful experience for troops stationed abroad," said Retired Master Sergeant Mark Evans, founder of Pizzas 4 Patriots, in the announcement. "I am grateful to DHL Express for donating its shipping services, and to Rich’s, for making this experience possible for our brave servicemen and women."
The pizza will touch down in Bagram Airbase and then on to various Forward Operating Bases in Afghanistan. DHL Express will provide door-to-door delivery.
