Pizza box transforms into plates, storage container

Boston-based Upper Crust Pizzeria will carry the Ecovention LLC GreenBox, according to an Ecovention announcement.

GreenBox, a recycled material pizza box, is to be used at all six Upper Crust locations in Boston as of July 1, 2014. GreenBox is designed to convert into four plates and contains a bottom piece that can be used as a storage container for leftovers.  Ecovention's intention for the box is to eliminate excess waste by reducing the need for "disposable plates, plastic wrap and aluminum foil," the company said.

"We are excited to be delivering a pizza box that is not only eco-friendly, but adds convenience to our customers’ lives," said Shawn Shenefield, Operations Manager for the Upper Crust Pizzeria, in the announcement.
