Pizza brands are finding new ways to turn sales into charitable giving. Tony Gemignani and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa have teamed up on The Boss, a limited-edition pizza launching Sept. 10 at Tony's Pizza Napoletana and Capo's, with half of proceeds benefiting California's Bay Area Family House, according to a news release. Family House provides support for families with children undergoing treatment for cancer and other serious illnesses.

Gemignani and Bosa collaborated during the offseason to develop the specialty pizza that features charred fennel, hot honey sausage and Italian sausage, paired with tomato sauce, Parmigiano, garlic, oil and oregano. The Boss will be available through the end of the 2026-2027 NFL season exclusively at Tony's Pizza Napoletana and Capo's by Tony Gemignani, with each restaurant serving its own signature take on the collaboration.

"It's an honor to partner with Nick Bosa, one of the NFL's most dominant defensive players and a true champion for the Bay Area community," Gemignani said in the release. "We had a blast creating this pizza together and knowing the impact it will have on the Family House families makes it even more meaningful."

Meanwhile, Blaze Pizza is giving local schools and community organizations an extra boost during back-to-school season, increasing its fundraising giveback from 20% to 25% throughout September, according to a press release.

Participating restaurants will contribute 25% of eligible fundraiser sales to approved organizations hosting events between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30, giving sports teams, booster clubs, student groups and nonprofits an opportunity to raise money for programs ranging from uniforms and travel to classroom needs and community activities.
