National Pizza Month has been celebrated each October for more than four decades, giving pizza restaurants and their customers a monthlong opportunity to celebrate one of America's most popular foods.

The observance dates back to 1984, when pizzeria operator Gerry Durnell launched National Pizza Month as part of his efforts to promote and support the pizza industry. Since then, October has evolved into a major marketing moment for pizza brands, with operators using the month to roll out limited-time menu items, promotions, giveaways and community initiatives.

This year is no exception. From nationwide promotions to local celebrations, pizza brands are finding plenty of ways to mark the occasion. Here's a look at how operators across the country are celebrating National Pizza Month in 2026.

  1. Wiseguy Pizza
    • From Oct. 1–30, all customers receive 25% off any whole 18-inch pizza, in-store or online, with promo code PIZZAMONTH.
  2. UNA Pizza + Wine / Unalike Marketing
    • UNA Pizza + Wine is taking an engagement-over-discounting approach to National Pizza Month. The brand is adding pizza reheating tips, recipes and recycling instructions to takeout bags and pizza boxes. UNA also is developing Slice Invaders, a browser-based pizza-themed game inspired by Space Invaders, featuring a pizza-slice player battling angry onions and three-eyed tomatoes. Players who achieve a qualifying score can unlock 10% off by providing their name and email and joining UNA's newsletter.
  3. Sal's Pizza
    • The New England-based pizza brand is combining National Pizza Month with its 36th anniversary. During its 36th Anniversary Week, Oct. 5–11, Sal's will sell its 19-inch cheese pizzas for $9.99. Customers also will receive free garlic knots with any 19-inch pizza every Monday in October. Teacher Tuesdays will offer educators 20% off every Tuesday during the month. The brand also is promoting its Roni Reads literacy initiative, including a "Pizza Play" at local schools and free slices for children who meet reading goals.
  4. Omni-Bingo
    • Omni-Bingo is offering pizza restaurants a way to turn National Pizza Month into an in-store entertainment event. Restaurants can pair pizza specials with the company's interactive Music Bingo experience. Guests play digitally on their phones while music, a host or DJ, prizes and restaurant promotions create a group experience. Founder Derrick Spruiell positions pizza as inherently social and says entertainment can give guests a reason to stay longer, participate and return, rather than simply visit once for a discount.
  5. East Village Pizza
    • The New York City slice shop is celebrating National Pizza Month with a series of limited-time, throwback-priced slice promotions tied to NYC events and culture.
      • Oct. 1: $1 slices from 2–3 p.m. to kick off National Pizza Month.
      • Oct. 18: 35-cent slices from 1–3 p.m. in recognition of Mayor Zohran Mamdani's 35th birthday.
      • Oct. 20: $1 slices from 2–3 p.m. tied to Knicks opening night.
      • Oct. 29: Customers who come in costume can get a $1 slice from 2–3 p.m. as a pre-Halloween promotion.
    • Owner Frank Kabatas says the campaign is designed to celebrate pizza fans, thank customers with affordable deals and connect the restaurant with New York culture. "The Knicks winning the championship was such a big, historic moment for New York, and we're excited to celebrate as the new season gets underway. Mayor Mamdani has also brought a lot of good energy to the city, so we wanted to thank him and our fellow New Yorkers by offering 35-cent slices on October 18 in honor of his 35th birthday. With the price of just about everything going up, it's also a chance for us to thank our customers and give them a great deal. Pizza brings people together, and that's what we want this month to be about."
  6. Riko's Pizza
    • Riko's is celebrating National Pizza Month throughout October with giveaways and a chance to win free pizza for a year. Each location across Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, and Florida will distribute 250 coupons for a free cheese pie with the purchase of any specialty pie. The brand also will hide one Golden Ticket in a customer's pizza box at each location, with the winner receiving one free cheese pizza per week for a year. On Oct. 5, participating locations also will celebrate National Hot Oil Pie Day by offering a free signature Hot Oil Pie with the purchase of any specialty pie.
