Pizza crew, detectives team up to catch driver robbers

April 27, 2003

COPIAGUE, N.Y. -- Quick-thinking employees at a Domino's Pizza in Copiague helped put three robbers behind bars on April 26.

According to News12.com, on April 25, an order was received at a Domino's in nearby North Amityville, N.Y., from the same address where a Domino's driver from Copiague was robbed on April 13. The North Amityville employees became suspicious and phoned Suffolk County Police Department detectives.

The detectives escorted the delivery driver on the run, and when three subjects attempted to rob the driver, the officers intercepted them.

According to the report, the three robbers are age 17. Police say they are the same trio responsible for the earlier robbery.
