Pizza delivery driver ambushed by gang

The Newton Citizen: COVINGTON, Ga. — A pizza delivery driver was assaulted and robbed on the night of Oct. 1 by a gang, according to the Newton County Sheriff's Office.

The driver, an employee with Premier Pizza on Brown Bridge Road, was taken to Newton General Hospital for head injuries following the incident, which took place at the Orchard Grove Apartments on Salem Road around 11:20 p.m., police said. The victim said about 10 different suspects participated in the robbery by ambushing him as he made the delivery.
