COLOGNE, Germany -- A pizza delivery driver drove into a 30-foot-deep hole after vandals rearranged road construction diversion signs and stole warning lights protecting the site.
According to Ananova, Kamran Gondal, 35, was on a late-night run when the rearranged diversions signs led him right into the hole, where his van fell and overturned.
"I suddenly saw a huge hole in front of me and slammed on the brakes," said Gondal, who escaped serious injury.
"We are investigating the building firm for failing to take the proper precautions," said police spokesman Werner Schmidt. "It could have been vandals, but at the moment we are not drawing any conclusions."
