Pizza driver nailed for check scam

The Scott County Times: A Forest, Miss., pizza delivery driver is in police custody on charges of stealing money from customers' bank accounts.

Willie Ray Smith, 31, was charged with three counts of uttering forgery. The former Domino's Pizza employee allegedly scammed customers by using routing numbers from checks used to pay for pizza.

When a victim reported recently that $670.12 was taken from her bank account, police began an investigation. She told police Smith delivered a pizza to her and then returned and told her he lost the check out the window of his car. The woman told police she gave Smith another check, which was later presented against her account for payment.
