DALLAS -- Pizza Hut and Pepsi-Cola have joined forces with the National Football League (NFL) on a pizza and pop promo for the 2003-2004 season.
According to a news release, beginning Sunday, Sept. 7, Pizza Hut customers can order the NFL Deal: a medium one-topping pizza and a two-liter of Pepsi for only $1.99, when they purchase a large specialty pizza at regular price. Pizza Hut's specialty line includes its Lover's Line of pizzas and its Supreme pizzas.
The six-week offer is valid through Saturday, Oct. 18.
The program will get marketing support from two 30-second national television spots: one run on game days, the other run during the week. Those spots feature three NFL stars: Rich Gannon, Oakland Raiders, reigning NFL MVP and quarterback in Super Bowl XXXVII; Michael Strahan, New York Giants, NFL's single-season sack leader; and Chris Hovan, a Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman. Support will also come from print, POP materials and online messages.
