Pizza Hut launches ad agency search

Pizza Huthas launched a review of creative duties on its ad account, according to a story in Adweek. Pizza Hut's account is currently with Omnicom Group's BBDO in New York.
 
According to the story:
The brand's major media spending totaled $275 million last year and $144 million in the first seven months of 2009, according to Nielsen. Those figures don't include online spending.
 
BBDO, which has handled the business since the late 1980s, is defending. An agency representative referred calls to the Dallas-based client, which released a statement confirming the review.
Pizza Hut is expected to narrow the search to four of five finalists by the end of the week.
