Pizza Hut named India's most trusted food brand

August 29, 2006

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Pizza Hut has been named the most trusted food brand in India in The Economic Times' (India) Most Trusted Brands survey.

"Yum is investing significant amounts in India to make our brands available to Indian consumers," Graham Allan, president, Yum! Restaurants International, said in a news release. "At the same time, we are striving to become part of everyday life in India by positioning Pizza Hut as an international brand with an Indian heart. The enthusiasm for Pizza Hut shown by consumers across all parts of the country encourages us to believe that we can be highly successful in this rapidly growing market."

The survey, conducted by Synovate India, polled more than 100 educated and affluent Indian consumers 21 to 40 years old. Pizza Hut ranked the No. 1 most trusted brand among consumers ages 21 to 30 and 31 to 40.

In addition to Pizza Hut India's top spot on the Most Trusted Food & Beverage Brands list, the company also has been named the most trusted quick-service restaurant brand for the past three years in The Economic Times' annual Most Trusted Brands ranking. That survey interviews more than 7,000 Indian consumers.

There are 130 Pizza Hut restaurants in India.
