Pizza Hut is closing its Lebanese locations as the Middle Eastern nation's situation deteriorates due to continued clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. In posts on Instagram, Pizza Hut Lebanon announced the closures with wording that indicated the chain would return sometime in the future.

In an image of a letter posted to the site, the company told customers, "We can't thank you enough for the good times we had together and the support. …" It then closed the message saying, "We will hold onto these memories until we make new ones."

Pizza Marketplace is awaiting a response from Pizza Hut about the decision to close its stores and what timeframe it has in mind for the length of the closures.

Lebanon has been without a complete government for nearly a year and is in a massive economic crisis, that includes currency that has lost most of its value this year and a populace that is largely living in poverty.
