HOUSTON -- Pizza Patron, a Latino-centered pizza company headquartered in Garland, Texas, has signed two development agreements to open 28 units here in the next 36 months.
According to a news release, El Chico restaurant franchisees C.C. Theophine and Rick Sparkman have formed Cuatro Ventures LLC, to develop 14 Pizza Patron stores.
Rio Concho Partners, Ltd., has signed to develop the other 14 units. Brandon Beck, managing partner of Rio Concho, is an experienced franchisee of multiple casual dining concepts.
Pizza Patron was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Currently the company has about a half dozen stores in operation and more than 30 in development, all in Texas.
"We are excited to have such a powerful team of brand partners in Houston," said Swad. "They have exemplary track records and will do an incredible job of establishing the brand in Houston."
Pizza Patron serves value-priced pizzas in a carryout-only format. Stores are based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods.
