Pizza payoff costs officer his job

The Associated Press: A Fort Worth, Texas, police officer has resigned after being accused of offering a pizza delivery driver a break on a traffic ticket in exchange for pizzas. Officer David Towson, who had been on the force five years, resigned in October after administrators recommended an indefinite suspension, which is the equivalent of being fired.

Towson, who was assigned to the traffic division, was placed on restricted duty in July after a pizza driver told internal affairs investigators that Towson offered to not write her a ticket if she would take pizzas to a certain address.
